Meditation Training -
An immersion into the practices of Meditation
Part One will be offered next April 11, 2012,~ please put it in your calendar now
2 Wednesday Evenings per Month, 6:30-8:30

"Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet. It is a way of entering into the quiet that is already there - buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day....Silence is the great teacher, and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence." Deepak Chopra

Our field trip to St. Mary's garden in Barnstable - beautiful prana walking meditation afternoon!

Meditation evokes a profound renewal of body, mind and spirit. The Kind Yoga meditation training draws on universal principles of meditation from various disciplines. Much of the training is based in the ancient teachings of Patanjali, who gave us the roadmap to enlightenment in his Yoga Sutras. The training also includes meditation practices from other traditions, creating a comprehensive approach to living a mindful life in harmony.

Part One: Create your own Meditation Practice
Part One will be offered next April 11, 2012 ~ July 25
2 Wednesday Evenings per Month, 6:30-8:30
and a saturday afternoon retreat.

Meditation is generally practiced in a quiet environment and in a comfortable position. The mind isn't forced into strict focus or becoming empty, simply paying attention to the focus of your meditation opens the gate to the experience. We will also explore walking and sitting meditations outdoors on nice evenings: beach walk meditation, garden meditation, lovingkindness meditation and others.

In this program you will:

Learn to be guided by your inner wisdom

Practice breath and body attunement to ease stress and anxiety so that you can meditate

Be guided in the practice of various sacred meditations

Move beyond the distractions and obstacles to meditation
Use the process of meditative journaling to reflect on insights

Learn the art of setting intentions for creating the life you want

Learn how to direct your energy, mental attitudes, and actions to live in balance with yourself and the world around you. Learn effective skills to help you relax, center, and be calm. Experience useful and practical tools for creating and deepening your meditation practice.

“Without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness, nothing will change for the better in the sphere of our being as humans, and the catastrophe towards which this world is headed - be it ecological, social, demographic or a general breakdown of civilization - will be unavoidable. . . The salvation of this human world lies nowhere else than in the human heart, in the human power to reflect, in human meekness and in human responsibility.” Vaclav Havel, President of the Czech Republic in his historic address to the U.S. Congress

Enough~ by David Whyte

Enough. These few words are enough.
If not these words, this breath.
If not this breath, this sitting here.

This opening to the life
we have refused
again and again
until now.

Until now.
